Whirlybirds formed in 2016…and the band quickly began to develop its own spin on the style, delving deeper into New Orleans style Dixieland and pre-WWII era jazz while still incorporating more modern elements of jazz, pop, soul, and funk. The result is unique arrangements of original music (as well as standards/covers) designed to engage and entertain the audience in a high-energy, live show the audience won’t soon forget.
Daniel Dye, the Miller Road Band, & Sister Sarah
Daniel Dye, an “extraordinary singer-songwriter” (Buckeye Music Magazine) and the classically-trained Miller Road Band combine the guitar, banjo, harmonica, violin, cello, and mandolin to create a “heartwarming and soulful…rich Bluegrass sound” to Dye’s “powerful short stories through simply beautiful lyrics” (WYSO 91.3).
His songs have been described anywhere from “Americana/Folk/Roots” that “takes you back in time”(BMM), to “lovely folk-clad rural reflections” (Columbus Underground), to “thoroughly organic and full of soul” (Tuned Up), to “morbid troubadour folk” (Poptek Recs).
Dye’s latest recording project, “Back to Ohio” features Sister Sarah on the vocals.
