After three very dusty days, the upstairs of the old building at the corner of Mutual-Union Road and St. Rte. 29 is looking like a place that has real possibilities as a music hall and the site of the first Madden Road MusicFest. The pieces stored there (some of them for several decades) have been cleared out and the cracked plaster ceiling and lathes knocked down — not a job for the faint of heart, as the ceiling is 15 feet in height.
Hope you’re planning on coming down to the festival to see this work-in-progress in just 3 weeks!
Daniel,
I’d like to blog on the building project and festival on Champaign Uncorked! I’d like to come out, if possible, to take a few photos and talk with you briefly — so as not to hold up progress. You may contact me at schenkel@ctcn.net or 937-478-6533. Thanks!
Gary
